The Accounts Receivables Clerk (ARC) is responsible for the collection and recording of all associated transactions on behalf of the Company, made by Branches and adherence to company policies and procedures, thereby ensuring that loss is minimized. In this position the incumbent is expected to play a critical role by positively impacting customers’ experience through the provision of exemplary customer service.

Specifications

  • Posting of deposits (cash and cheques) as per assigned branches/locations on a daily basis.
  • Carries out reconciliations of cash and cheque with bill payment locations and Company bank account statements
  • Prepares listings of deposits by Agents for assigned branches/locations
  • Ensures that posting to the systems are done within the required timeframes and in an accurate manner.
  • Monitors to ensure that cash lodgments are up-to-date for assigned branches/locations.
  • Prepares Franchisee deposit reports, and deposit to biller account within the established timeframes
  • Takes necessary steps to resolve issues with Customers and branches/locations
  • Resolves deposit issues with Banks
  • Liaises with providers (LIME/FLOW etc.) in absence of payment files, updates or missing payments.
  • Performs bank reconciliations for assigned accounts to ensure all funds collected on behalf of billers are accounted for.
  • Communicates orally and in writing with branches/locations to resolve discrepancies and issues
  • Performs clerical duties necessary for the completion of assigned tasks
  • Performs any other related duty assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to solve problems and exercise good judgement
  • Ability to work under pressure, focus on details and work without constant supervision.
  • Good oral and written communication skills

Experience

  • Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Secondary education with passes in at least three (3) CXC subjects, including English Language and Mathematics or Principles of Accounts
  • Two (2) years working experience in retail or financial environment in a similar capacity
